When I met the lady selling the thirties hat box and hat, she told me that her mother used to wear the hat. Memories like that make an item so valuable. I have to say that's one of the things I love most about vintage. Precious memories and stories. Of course I will always cherish the hat, but I also wanted to honour it by wearing it with an outfit to match it's beauty. I wore this to a lunch I'll be showing more off soon (since it was so heavenly..) I pinned the hat down to make sure it would stay on my hat, but because of the strong wind... I literally had to hold onto my head hihi.
Gotta love the romantic graffiti slurs on the door -_- |

ReplyDeleteTotally stunning hat! I would be so happy to have it too! I wonder myself sometimes when I buy something vintage who wore it and what they did while wearing it! Such an amazing outfit!

A hat like this - elegant, understated - is truly one of those pieces that will cease to be beautiful and fashionable (much like you, yourself, dear gal).
