Thrifted

Yesterday, I went to visit a thriftstore I never visited before. I told my friend (and colleague) Tante Patent I was going there, she wanted to come with me and off we went. In a town near Utrecht, called Maarssen, you can find thriftstore 'De Sirkel' in the middle of the centre. We didn't know what to expect, but once we had a good look around we were pleasantly suprised.

I 'collected' such great things, and so did Tante (which I'm sure she'll post on her blog.) I found: a wool/casmere pencil skirt that actually fits me like a glove, a silk scarf, a Harrods Tweed jacket with gold buttons, a kitty brooche, red leather loafers and an angora sweater with pearls... all for the total of 18 euro's! 

Flirty Forties

Because I'm such a fashion-history enthousiast... I always manage to add some vintage items to shoots I style. However, every once in a while I love to produce a shoot that is completely dedicated to a period in the past. This time, I was inspired by the forties.

New in: Crocodile

J'adore! Just look at this awesome little crocodile purse. It almost looks like it has a 'belly' because of it's shape. The purse is made out of croc leather and is lined with soft calfskin. The gold hardware makes the purse even more desirable for me. I found it at a vintage shop in Utrecht.

When it was still sunny....

Jugendstil locket

I got this gorgeous jugendstil locket from the twenties from my boyfriend. Whenever we have a saturday off, we go to this cute little antique store in Utrecht and that's where I saw it. For Christmas, my family gave me a beautiful gold necklace to match. I just love the delicate flower and the tiny little gems. Not sure wether I'll put something in there... but I might.

Thierry Mugler

I'm going to a New Years party in a few minutes. I didn't really know what to wear ('a closet full of clothes....nothing to wear' as Carrie would say) untill I came across this gorgeous vintage Thierry Mugler jacket I bought a few weeks ago. This blazer is so unique, it's an outfit on it's own.... love it!

Après la fête

New Years Eve is over.... time for me to wish all of you a happy new year! Just before 2011 ended, I styled a shoot. It's about a girl who just went to an awesome party and is now on her way home. I bet we can all relate to the feeling you have when you just left a cool party.... thrilled, tired and hungry.
