The beautiful Girona and Grannolers

3 lovely comments
One of the towns close to 'our' mountain, was Girona... such an amazing city! Very medieval and so gorgeous! I went to visit Girona with Marnix, where we enjoyed a decadent three course lunch. Of course I wore a vintage dress from the fifties... just to feel even more historic.

The second town we visited a few days later was Granollers. I had neverheard of that name before. But for some reason we ended up there. The first sights were... depressing! But since we had to eat something, we headed into town anyways. To our surprise, the town centre was very pretty! Very different from Girona, which made the visit even more worth while.

Inspired by the worlds first bra; I made some detail pictures of slipdresses and other vintage undergarment I own (and wear of course.) The silk, the lace, the charmeuse, the dreamy colours... It's just all so beautiful to gaze at (L)

The secretary dress

6 lovely comments
I thrifted this secretary dress years ago and I had never worn it before today. For some reason there was something 'off' that I could never really put my finger on... But then I suddenly got it; I hated the sleeves. They used to be longer and that was just too much. The whole dress just became a bit 'overwhelming' since it's already very pleated and 'ruffly.' So I had the sleeves shortened and now I love my dress again! Isn't this just the most beautiful shade of pink?

A dedication to boobs

2 lovely comments
On the 18th of July 2012, word came out that the world's oldest bra had been found. Now this is a lovely piece of news to a fashion history lover as myself. For years we were ment to believe the first bra-like garments were worn by the end of the 19th century. Turns out that is not true. The bra that is now changing our believes about underwear was found in Austria and is over 500 years old!  The bra was discovered in a waste-filled vault at Lengberg Castle, together with a few more bra like garments. So it was in fact not a 19th century invention; the bra already existed (in some form) in the 15th century!
I have to admit that part of me thinks that there are probably bra's out there that are even older than that...  Women have always had boobs and having them just 'hang' is not comfortable. I can imagine one being very motivated in finding something to solve that back in the days. Undergarments are usually made of delicate materials and I think the problem in not finding them is that they're simply faded away... And since documenting underwear propably wasn't on peoples minds hundreds of years ago, who know what might have been lost over the centuries? Haha hell, for all I know Cleopatra was walking around strutting a fancy emerald breast holder in her days.

My b-day gifts!

Having a b-day party usually means getting presents! My mum comming to Spain as a surprise was the biggest gift of course! But I also got some presents I can show you guys. This year I asked for a watch to wear at my new job. I have been staring at rosegold watches for a while now, so it became pretty clear I wanted one for myself. This Oozoo piece is just perfect, the right size and the colour goes very well with my Scotch wardrobe.
My darling husband bought me the watch, but he also had another suprise in store for me. He gifted me a try-the-bike experience, a two hour trial lesson for me to see if bike riding is something for me. He has been driving motorcycles for almost ten years now... so it would be awesome to join him! Here are the other gifts I received from my dearest family.
The cutest giftset with Dior perfumes

An adorable embelished military jacket. I picked this out (Zara) with some cash I got

I also went for this HUGE Scotch&Soda scraf, which is so comfy (L)

Yay, rosegold studded shoes to go with my watch... (Bershka)

And a beautiful pendant to match as well

Doesn't this all look amazing together!?

I'm back from Spain and I had a BLAST! I can't even describe how incredibly amazing it was... Oh my god. The campsite we stayed at was literaly on top of a mountain, in a horse reserve just above Barcelona. The weather was as gorgeous as the view... just  imagine waking up staring into a green valley every morning. We went there with my family (dads side), a lovely bunch of 17 people in total! The second day we were there, I celebrated my 25th birthday and my mum even came over for a special b-day visit. How cute is that! I do believe it was the best b-day party I ever had!
I'll dedicate a few posts to this Spain trip, since we visited many different places and we wined and dined A LOT. So you can imagine I made lots of pictures. Let me start by showing you the campsite, the surroundings and some b-day pics.
