Yesterday my lovely boyfriend ran a 10km run with his brother and two friends. They raised money for a good cause; the leukemia fund. This because our nephew was diagnosed with leukemia this year. I decided to support the men together with the other girlfriends. Good for us it was a lovely day to be at the Achmea run in Haarlem. They raised a thousand euro's. And of course.... I wore vintage!

Brand spankin' new
Whenever I buy something new, I feel like wearing it immediately. So I today did, I wore my new burgundy pants (C&A) with my faux silk blouse (H&M) and mixed it up with some gold jewelry and dalmatian loafers (Asos.) I really love my nailcolour as well, this polish is also new and I got it at the Kruidvat (Catrice.)

Burgundy
Oh how I just love this colour. It's warm, luxurious and fortunately it looks good on me. I found some great burgundy items at the C&A, so you can imagine it was cheap. This great cable knit sweater and high waist pants only cost 12 and 19 euro's. The blouse and necklace are both H&M. The item you see on the bottom of the pile will be shown later.

Picture not so perfect
I recently picked up this aztec belt and Robert Capa picture book at the local thriftstore. Capa was an amazing war photographer, and the pictures in this book (mostly from or before WW II) are breathtaking. They captivate the effects of war in a beautiful realistic way. I made some pictures of the book, but make sure to look him up.

IJhallen
After hearing about it's 'awesomeness' I finally decided to visit the IJhallen fleamarket in Amsterdam. However, I was disappointed. I visit fleamarkets all the time, and this was by far the most disappointing one. The people were unfriendly and the prices ridiculous. Most of the stalls were manned by hardcore dealers trying to rip you off for your last penny. There were a few cute stalls with fashionistas selling their stuff, but that wasn't for me. I only bought two silver bracelets.

Blow me away
Literally... I was blown away while trying to make these pictures. My hair was constantly in my face and the camera kept on falling down haha. Anyways... I was wearing a completely thrifted outfit. The faux fur jacket cost me 9 euros, the lurex sweater 3 euros and the ankle boots 4 whole euros. I hope this isn't misunderstood.... but I feel so cheap *wink.*

Sunday Amsterdamming
Today me and my bofriend decided to visit Amsterdam. We went to the Rijksmuseum, visited the '9 straatjes' where we had lunch at 'Goodies' and then we met up with a friend for some beers. Here are a few pictures of what we did and my outfit (everything I wore is vintage.)

It's an oldie
I found this dress a few months ago in a vintage shop. It's probably from the late thirties or early forties. I really love the original bakelite belt, the lace details and sleeves... and the pleating around the neckline. The dress is in really good shape, and I have to say really comfortable as well. Which is not very common for a dress that's almost 80 years old. I wore it with Zara heels (got them on sale a few months ago as well), an old necklace and a vintage fur jacket.

Yummy lemotail
This is a lemonade/cocktail recipe I like to call: lemotail. Grab an empty bottle, fill it halfway with wodka (1/6), lemonade (1/6) and then top it of with plain water (4/6). Pop fresh a basket of raspberries in there and put it in the freezer. After a few hours: serve it up with a lot of ice!

Second day at the tracs
Today we got to enjoy the VIP treatment (we'd won earlier this week) at the races. We had a lovely tour of the pit lane and got to see some cars up close. During the day we had acces to the VIP lounge, where food and drinks were served constantly (always nice....) I wore an easy going vintage outfit, because the weather wasn't all that good today.

Racing
I won tickets to go to the Trophy of the Dunes in Zandvoort. I never really thought about visiting these race tracks, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was good, the cars were fast and the sun was shining. I was wearing my Hawaiian shirt for the occasion (which I even tied up because of the heat) and we honestly had a lovely day! We'll be there tomorrow as well for a tour of the tracs (and cars) and a fully catered buffet in the VIP lounge.
